Are you a juicing queen or a first timer?
Pros: If you are new to juicing, it is amazing! Juicing will give you a surge of nutrients in only a glass so you’ll feel full of energy right away. It’s also easy to mix and match ingredients so you can use up whatever fruits and veggies you have at home. Lastly, if you are short on time, it only takes seconds to juice and you are out the door.
Cons: You need a juicer to begin and if you don’t have one, they can be pricey. A magic bullet or other smoothie maker will not do the trick. However, if you have one or can borrow a friend’s you are good to go. Second, cleaning your juicer is a royal pain. I recommend cleaning it right away if you can – it’ll be a little easier.
Here are my top 3 favorite juicing recipes from my Green Smoothies & Protein Drinks book by Jason Manheim:
1 bunch of lettuce (red leaf or mixed)
1 bunch of watercress (or spinach)
3-6 large mint leaves
1-2 spoonfuls of pumpkin puree’
1-2 plums (pitted)
1 large handful spinach
cinnamon to taste
2 cups coconut water
